October 2008
Welcome to Fall.
October is finally here and with it comes cooler temperatures and great opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Not only is the fishing great but many hunting seasons open this month. From what I’ve seen, the acorn crop this year is tremendous which is great for hunters.
Once again, the magazine is packed with great feature stories, columns, shorts and charts. All the information you will need to enhance your days outdoors. In addition to our hunting and fishing coverage this month, we’ve published our first in a series of articles about golf and outdoors featuring Boo Weekly. Boo has been a long time reader and supporter of Great Days Outdoors Magazine and he’s an avid hunter and fisherman. You may have seen television news coverage of his performance recently at the Ryder Cup.
Next month, be sure to look for a comprehensive feature story about bears in Alabama. This article will tell you everything you need to know about the population and concerns in taking care of these magnificent animals and their return to our state.
Another great feature coming next month is one that I’ve wanted to see for years. The Creek Indians were great hunters and this full feature covers everything about the tribe’s hunting culture.
Also, watch for the follow-up article on Baiting Deer In Alabama in the coming months.
Have a great day outdoors!
